Pre-Prison “Vegan For Life” Flier by ALF Prisoner Walter Bond
View a flier made and distributed by Walter Bond before his arrest for Animal Liberation Front arsons
This week I was sent this flier made by Walter Bond, before his arrest for Animal Liberation Front-claimed arsons at Sheepskin Factory, Tiburon, and Tandy Leather Factory. It is very reminiscent of literature that circulated among the grassroots movement in the mid-1990s.

As a long time vegan, I still struggle to understand the vegan straight edge thing. Please help me understand!
I concur. While I stay sober because I am an addict who wants control of my life, it has nothing to do with reasons why I am a vegan. I do not understand where the flier says, “and most often: not vegan.” Some alcohol has fish guts in it, but weed and mushrooms and morning glory seeds and other alcohols and a whole slew of other narcotics are meat and byproduct free. I think that line is utter bullshit and should be left out of the flier. I can see why one would want to stay sober so as to avoid drunken ramblings that risk security culture, but Walter Bond couldn’t even avoid such ramblings while sober. Veganism preaching needs to stay separate from staying sober preaching, because it just doesn’t make sense to pair the two in such a way as this flier suggests.
